How it started
Tint Tone & Shade began in 2016 in a very simple way.
Not with a large office or a big team, but with a few projects, a lot of intent, and a strong belief that homes should never feel standard.
In those early days, every space was designed closely, almost personally. Conversations were longer. Decisions were slower. But everything felt more considered.
That way of working stayed.
Today, after designing over 800 homes, the scale has changed, but the approach has not. Every home still begins the same way, by understanding the people who will live in it.

Mohamed AbuBacker Samsudeen
Founder
Abu approaches design with clarity.
As an architect, his thinking is structured, logical, and precise. He looks at a home not just as a space, but as something that has to work effortlessly every day.
He is the one asking the practical questions. The one making sure every detail holds up in execution. The one ensuring that nothing is left to chance.
Mohammed Salman
Co - Founder
Salman looks at a home differently.
For him, design is about how a space feels when you walk into it. The light, the mood, the small details that people may not notice immediately, but remember over time.
He brings that emotional layer into every project, making sure each home feels lived in, personal, and quietly expressive.
Together, they shape every project with two perspectives, one that ensures it works, and one that ensures it feels right.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
A small independent practice, working closely on a few homes, learning, refining, and building slowly.
2018
TAKING SHAPE
Tint Tone & Shade was formally established, giving structure to what was already growing.
2019
BUILDING A TEAM
Moving into a studio space meant more people, more ideas, and a more collaborative way of working.
2020
FIRST EXPERIENCE CENTER, CHENNAI
A space where clients could come in, see materials, touch finishes, and make decisions with more clarity.
2023
HYDERABAD
The first step into a new city. Different homes, different clients, but the same approach.
2025
DUBAI
Expanding beyond India, carrying the same way of working into a new context.

TEN YEARS
Ten years of designing homes, learning through every project, and growing one step at a time.
